The ground holds 121 sprinklers and the grass is a mixture of couch and rye grass. The dimensions of the AFL ground are 175 metres x 135 metres. The total ground is approximately 23 000 m2.
In 2011 the arena underwent a complete turf resurface after the 2010 concert series which saw Domain Stadium host Bon Jovi and U2 concerts back to back.
In any given year, the centre circles are replaced twice during the AFL Season.
100 man hours per week are spent working on the ground. This includes mowing, fertilising, chemical applications, turf testing, planning, re-turfing, irrigation maintenance, and ground audits.
The entire surface is watered with bore water from a bore located inside the stadium and there is also a backup bore on Kitchener Park.
